Pray for the meetings and discussion in the United Nations Security Council, that the Indonesian Foreign Minister Ali Alatas and the military advisers with him do not object to any proposals put forward so peace keeping troops can enter East Timor as soon as possible

Pray that BJ Habibie and General Wiranto will allow for United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) food drops to go ahead, which although had been promised earlier seem to be stalled in negotiation and discussions

Pray for the remaining East Timorese who are internally displaced in East Timor, and those in West Timor and other parts of Indonesia, that they will be allowed to return to East Timor when peace and security have been restored

Give thanks that the United Nations Mission to East Timor (UNMET) was able to take 1500 refugees from the UNMET compound with almost all the remaining UN staff to Darwin safely
