Prayer Points for Sunday, 12th September, 1999

Please have a time of silence today, in remembrance of those that have perished so
far in the East Timorese struggle of independence
Pray for the safety of the remaining eighty United Nations personnel in Dili, that
they will stay and not abandon the East Timorese
Pray for the East Timorese who are in Dare, south of the capital Dili, who are
under attack from Indonesian army and pro-Jakarta militias
Pray for the East Timorese that have been removed from East Timor to West Timor,
and other parts of Indonesia, that they will be safe and will be able to return back
to East Timor when the United Nations have secured security
Pray for the Indonesian Cabinet meeting taking place today, for Indonesian President
BJ Habibie, armed forces chief and Defence Minister, General Wiranto, and Foreign Minister,
Ali Alatas, who will be among the ministers attending, that they will allow
for United Nations Peace keeping troops to enter East Timor
Give thanks, and continued prayer for the international response to the East Timor
situation, especially for General Secretary of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, that he
can continue to apply the pressure to Indonesia's decision makers
