The UTS Catholic Students Movement and UTS Catholic Asian Students
Society, supported by University of Sydney Catholic Asian Students
Society, UTS Catholic Chaplaincy and Amnesty International, Newtown
Have organised the following events and invite you to participate.
East Timor Vigil & Banner Making Night
Meet at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Newtown (Corner of Bedford Street and Station Street).
The night will consist of:
Talks (because of the urgency, speakers have not been contacted, but
we've got in mind Sr Susan Connelly and of course David Moutou);
Banner/flag/armband/headband making (materials provided);
Prayers/Taize-style singing etc.;
Whatever else we can come up with.
Refreshments/grubs will be provided. Bring ideas/musical instruments etc.

7.30pm. FRETILIN East Timorese community commemoration.

EAST TIMOR - church and community what can we do?
Joy Balazo and Rev. John Barr will speak at Parramatta Mission this Sunday
night on the crisis in East Timor.
Joy is just back from the region. She observed the elections and witnessed
the violence. John spent five years in Timor and is in regular contact with
people in Indonesia.
Don't miss this rare event.
